All the current efforts of the SME CMSP program, which build upon the excellent foundation of the previous 25 years, have three objectives: zero accidents and incidents at mines and mills, increase the already excellent international stature of the CMSP, and achieve third party accreditation in 2018. Highlighted activities include having formed and working with a panel of subject matter experts to write questions for the exam, and the convening of a Cut Score Panel who will take the first examination to determine the passing score for future test takers. It is an honor and pleasure to work with the world class safety personnel working on the CMSP.
